The Agriculture Markets Development Trust (AMDT) is a long term facility with a life span of at least 10 years aiming to increase incomes and employment opportunities for poor women, men, and young people in Tanzania. AMDT’s mission is to enable change in agricultural market systems so that productive poor women, men and youth can benefit from more inclusive, resilient and competitive market systems. AMDT believes that enabling large-scale systemic change in market systems critical for the productive poor, creates a much stronger chance of achieving sustained pro poor impact. AMDT generates evidence and pilots interventions, then it scales up those that work, and promotes knowledge sharing and strategic coordination.
